Capitec City Hustle

Goal: Pay off your starting debt of R 5,500 and make as much profit as possible within 30 days!

Gameplay:

• Buy items low and sell them high in different locations across South Africa.
• Use the Marketplace to buy and sell. Prices change daily and vary by location.
• The Avg. Buy column shows your average purchase price for items you own.
• Current prices are colored green if above your average cost (profit) and red if below (loss).
• Each location has different price affinities for certain items. For example, Johannesburg has higher prices for Data Bundles, Shares, and EasyEquities Vouchers, while Cape Town has better prices for Biltong, Gatsby Sandwiches, and Amapiano Tracks.
• Click the chart icon () in the Actions column to see a detailed Price History graph for that item across all locations.
• Click the Travel buttons to move to a new location. Traveling takes 1 day and may trigger random events.
• Your Hold capacity limits how many items you can carry.

Feature Icons:

• Access key features through the feature icons in the center of the screen:
• Hover over each icon to see its function: Inventory Upgrades, Investments, Capitec Savings, and Loan Shark.
• Click on any icon to access that feature's detailed interface.

Savings Account:

• Deposit cash into your Capitec Savings account to earn 8% daily interest.
• Deposits and withdrawals take 1 day to process, so plan ahead!
• Cash is deducted immediately when depositing, but only added to your account after 1 day.
• Similarly, withdrawals are deducted from savings immediately, but cash is only received after 1 day.
• Use your savings to build wealth or save for larger purchases.

Investments:

• Invest in Capitec Shares or EasyEquities Vouchers to grow your wealth.
• Investment values fluctuate daily based on market conditions, with volatility of up to 40%.
• Daily interest rates range from 5% to 12%, combined with market fluctuations.
• Investment values won't drop below R50 per share/voucher.
• Buy low and sell high to maximize your returns!

Inventory Upgrades:

• Purchase Inventory Upgrades to increase your maximum carrying capacity.
• Bigger inventory means more goods to trade and higher potential profits!
• Available upgrades include:
  • Basic Upgrade: R1,000 for +50 capacity
  • Standard Upgrade: R2,500 for +100 capacity
  • Premium Upgrade: R5,000 for +250 capacity

Item Freshness:

• Perishable items like food will lose freshness over time.
• Freshness is displayed with color-coded indicators:
  ●100% Fresh ●65% Fresh ●30% Fresh
• Items with low freshness will sell for less - the selling price is multiplied by the freshness percentage.
• Freshness decreases by 5-10% per day, with a minimum of 30%.
• Items below 30% freshness cannot be sold at all.

Loans and Debt:

• Choose from three loan tiers with different amounts and interest rates:
  • Small Loan: R2,000 with 8% interest
  • Medium Loan: R5,000 with 10% interest
  • Large Loan: R10,000 with 15% interest
• Watch your debt-to-cash ratio! If your debt gets too high relative to your cash:
  • ● Warning level: When debt is 1.5x your cash
  • ● Danger level: When debt is 2.5x your cash
  • ● Critical level: When debt is 4x your cash - the loan shark may confiscate 30% of your most valuable item (up to 10 items) or 20% of your cash (up to R2,000)!
• Pay off your debt using the Loan Shark section before interest overwhelms you!

Special Delivery Missions:

• Accept Special Delivery Missions to earn bonus cash.
• Each mission requires delivering specific items to a particular city within a time limit.
• Missions offer 1.5x higher rewards than normal market prices - plan your routes accordingly!
• You can have up to 3 active missions at once.
• The missions counter 3 shows how many active missions you have.

Market Events:

• Watch for alerts about upcoming price Surges ↑ (high prices, 2.5x modifier) or Crashes ↓ (low prices, 0.4x modifier) for specific items in certain locations.
• These events last for 2-4 days and are announced 1-3 days in advance. Plan your travel and trades accordingly!
• The event frequency can be adjusted in settings (low, medium, or high).
• The event indicator ↑ or ↓ will appear next to the price in the market when an event is active.

Random Events: Traveling might trigger other random events!

• Police: May fine you (5-15% of your cash) or confiscate items (10-50% of a random item). You can choose to pay the fine or refuse and risk confiscation.
• Muggings: You might lose 10-30% of your cash.
• SARS Audit: Uh oh! Decide whether to pay the tax (10-30% of your cash) or hire a consultant (5% of your cash) who might reduce or eliminate your fine.
• Found Cash/Items: Find R50-R500 cash or 1-3 random items. If you don't have inventory space, you'll receive cash instead.
• Briefcase: Find extra inventory space (10-30 units).

Other Features:

• Use the Activity Log to review past trades, events, and other actions, with filtering options.
• Adjust game settings like starting cash, debt, game length, and event frequency via the Settings button (some settings require a New Game).
• Add your own Custom Items to the game through the Settings menu.

Game End: The game ends when you run out of days or pay off your debt. Your score is your final cash minus any remaining debt, plus the estimated value of your inventory, savings, and investments.
